Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
I would like to use this space to motivate you in supporting my efforts to raise money in order to stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, and myeloma. It is my hope that if you donate your hard earned money to this cause, that you will not do so casually but with a deeper understanding. So, here’s my story…
I have always been an advocate of good health and nutrition, not only personally but also professionally as a plastic surgeon. After two seasons of participating in triathlons, it wasn’t difficult to see that the Team In Training Athletes had a deeper purpose for their efforts. This is my 5th season of participating in triathlons and my 3rd season with Team In Training. As what began as a passion for exercise, has developed into a sincere and genuine need in finding a cure to save lives.
2010 brings it’s own unique challenges. Once again, I accept the responsibility in raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by participating in two events this year for Team In Training. First, the Steelhead Half Ironman in Benton Harbor on July 31st. This race includes a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run. The second event is the Ironman Wisconsin in Madison on September 9th with a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run. In addition, I will be reaching a milestone in my life with a considerable birthday. As I turn 50, I celebrate in knowing, that with your support, together we are contributing to something significantly great.
