Racing to Save Lives

* Training update below!

Hey all! Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

Those of you who know me know that I tend to need a goal to motivate myself enough to do anything more than work and sleep. Sad, I know...but hear me out. There I was driving down the road, minding my own business, when in a moment of synchronicity, just days after deciding that I wanted to train for a triathlon (a lofty goal indeed) I heard an ad for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's fundraising program, Team in Training. I looked up and to the left, as any warm-blooded human in a moment of epiphany would, and thought: "why should I only train for myself when I can train to benefit a terrific cause!" That thought was immediately followed by: "...and what was that thud I heard back there?"

So now I find myself training to participate in the Nation's Triathlon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. I get to wear purple, which I look rather dashing in, and I get a GREAT workout during the entire training phase! Plus we all get to help LLS in their hunt for a cure - it's win win! But my training, hard work, and sotto voce cursing will be for naught if we can't all band together, dig deep, and help reach my fundraising minimum!

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. Anything that you can give will be a great help to our cause, and will be a terrific boost to my training regimen - after all, I know you want to see me huffing and puffing down Independence Ave., hair dishevelled, seaweed stuck to one leg, an awesome sunglasses tan forming!

I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress, and forward the address to all of your friends and family. Thanks for your support!

Ryan

***It's 5/15/10 and I'm officially a week into my training program via beginnertriathlete.com - it's definitely a workout! Friday I did my first two-a-day, biking 13.33 miles and swimming 1350 yards, including 700 yards non-stop! I started swimming Tuesday, and that was the FIRST time I'd swam laps since I was 15, so it's been a learning experience!

Thank you all for your support and kind donations!
