This is my 3rd year with TnT and I can't wait to participate once again. As I get my WAYYYYY out of shape, infant chasing, over 40 yr. old butt back on the road and running, I hope to have the same tremendous support I've received in years past to achieve a fundraising goal of $2,000.
This year I will be running in the Baltimore Half Marathon SATURDAY OCTOBER 18TH to raise funds to support Team in Training and the incredible job they do to fight Leukemia and Lymphoma.
My mom Carol John was diagnosed in 2004 with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, during which time she had to battle multiple waves of the cancer and had endured countless hours of treatments to thankfully now be in remission. We're all very proud of her fight and her will to stick with the treatments that have given back her way of life.
What is Lymphoma and Leukemia?
The treatments Mom received included a drug called Rituxan that made her recovery possible without having to endure Chemotherapy. This drug was developed and implemented for the treatment of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma primarily through the money raised by Team In Training. Over the last 25 years, Team in Training has had 570,000 participants helping LLS invest more than $875 million in blood cancer research, and continues to raise big money to help the fight to cure Blood Cancers.
My Mom was the reason I got involved with TNT, though I soon found out how lucky our family is compared to the many other families who fight with this disease everyday. From my first group meeting with the great and inspiring people at TNT I soon found out that even though the success rates of fighting blood cancers have increased dramatically over the past years, there is still much more work to be done. Just like those achievers in us who strive for great things don't stop at the first hint of success, Team in Training has made incredible leaps and strides forward but we aren't done until no one is suffering from blood cancers ever again. This is an example of the leaps and bounds TNT is making.

I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in the donation area to the right in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
