Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

In August of 2007 I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Thankfully after going through chemotherapy and numerous surgeries I achieved remission. There were many scary parts to my journey, you can read my full story here . What I learned along the way is that there is so much work that still needs to be done to help people with blood cancers. I am now in a position to start doing something about it.

In October I plan to run the half marathon in Baltimore on a day that will mark approximately 2 years of remission. I received so much support from my community when I was sick. I apologize for going to the "well" one more time, but I need your help.
