Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page! Check the bottom of this page for updates to see how I'm coming along.
I am participating in the half marathon in honor of Baltimore’s two honored teammates, 5 year old Matthew who is battling B-Cell Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, and 17 year old Justin who is now doing great! I am also doing this for two friends who have been in remission for several years, and for the 10,000 children who are newly diagnosed each year. I feel like this is an opportunity I cannot pass up, and I want to do all I can to make a difference in the lives of those living with blood cancer. I am determined to reach my goal and I hope to exceed my own expectations.
I have almost reached my goal!!!
Deadline for donations is Nov. 6th!
This race will be my first, and I appreciate all the help and support I can get. Over the next 4 months I will be training several times a week and working hard to make sure I cross the finish line with a smile on my face.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. Without your donations I will be unable to reach my goal and be a part of this amazing and inspirational event in St. Petersburg, Florida this coming November.
Keep in mind that by the time you're done reading this, someone has been diagnosed with blood cancer, and every 10 minutes someone has lost their battle. This is a huge part of what keeps me going, and your support will only motivate me even more!
Donations can also be made in the form of check or cash. Please make checks payable to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and mail them to:

Please check back often to see my progress as I work toward my goal.
Thank you for taking the time to view my page!

When I first started the challenge of training and raising funds, I wondered if I would even reach 50% of my goal. I wondered what it would feel like once I reached a percentage in the 90's. Now I can say that it feels wonderful. This is just more proof that anything is possible!

Ahhh autumn has finally arrived... my favorite time of the year. No more intense heat or humidity. Only cool breezes, colorful trees, and crisp autumn air. I have been outdoors a lot the past couple weeks on the trails around Baltimore. The half marathon is getting closer and closer and I hope my ankle holds up. It has been feeling better and I've been able to do several miles of jogging and walking, but still taking it easy. There are only 3 weeks left for fundraising!!! I want to thank everyone again for their generous contributions! You guys rock!

Over four years ago I sprained my right ankle and fractured a couple bones in my foot. Since training began, my ankle has been in a lot of pain. I went to Towson Sports Medicine last week and was told I am dealing with Posterior Tibialis Tendinitis. The nice ATC, Ben, showed me some excercises to do with a band to strengthen my ankle. So far I am feeling better and I will be back on the trails soon!

I am truly thankful and surprised of how supportive my friends and family have been. Two weeks into this and I'm feeling great. Walked and jogged about 3.5 miles last night and just barely beat the rain. I can't wait for this muggy and hot weather to be gone! A big Thank You to all those who have donated!

Did a walk/run of 3 miles last night. It started to rain so I just ran faster!
