Doryn and I on vacation
Hi all,
That is my team above at 4:00 in the morning waiting for our marathon to start....way too early in the morning. Three of us are survivors and still going strong! We had to meet at 3:15 AM, board a bus, walk about a half hour and then wait in the cold (yes, cold) until Minnie, Mickey and Donald told us to go...There was a starting gun and fireworks and off we went. Dark, cold and thousands of people all trying to get into the rhythm of pacing themselves, all at the same time. Not an easy feat.
In spite of all that I did my best time, maybe it is because I decided not to stop for anything and wanted to get it over with. It is always fun, particulary when it is over and I cross the finish line. My third half marathon but every time I cross the finish line I am humbled, not only because I am a survivor, almost ten years, but I know that I'm doing this so someone else can cross a finish line one day. I never thought I would live to see the accomplishments that I have had since I was sick, yet alone do marathons for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
So, thank you all my friends for supporting me in my journey. I will do it again one day really soon because I want to make sure others lives are saved like mine was.
II appreciate all that you do to support me.
For those who still want to donate you can donate from this website.
I am raising funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as a participant in their Team In Training program and I'm asking you to help by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Nationwide we fundraised over 3 million dollars to help with research and support families of those who have blood cancers. I feel so proud to be part of this and most of all to be supported by you.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
Thank you once again.
