Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
As some of you will recall, I began this journey last year by training for and participating in my very first ever half marathon with Team in Training. And what a life-altering journey it has been! I was initially inspired by the strength and courage that I had witnessed in my friend Leila, who lost her battle with leukemia in December of 2005. I continue this journey because the fight has not been won and I personally know four people, ages 6 to 60, who are battling blood cancers today. I know that Team in Training and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society are dedicated to their mission of finding a cure, and I am very proud to be working with them!
So here we are, 8 months later, and I am still running!! And I am upping the ante. I have registered to run the full marathon in Disney this upcoming January with TNT! Yes, that is 26.2 MILES!!! Although a daunting task, for sure, I am confident that I can achieve this goal! Additionally, I am also mentoring new runners for the team, and am excited at the prospect of helping others achieve their goals!
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, both friends and strangers alike. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
