I became involved with the leukemia and lymphoma society in 2010 when I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Diffuse Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. The treatment I recieved was for another type of lymphoma but when they discovered that I had a rare mutation to my lymphoma and all the research showed having a different treatment would increase my chances of being cured everything changed. It is because of LLS that those studies were done and that I am cancer free today!

I was lucky enough to be an honored hero while I was going through treatment when my cousin joined Team In Training to run the Disney Marathon. I was again an honored hero and support person for the Boston Run To Remember TNT team for 2012 and then again For the disney marathon team in the beginning of 2013. I have tackled my own obstacles and physical challenges since becoming cancer free and decided it was time to officially join TNT. So I am a cancer survivor who is running the Tufts 10K for Women to help create many more survivors just like me!

I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
