My Fundraising Page

Nov 08, 2012

Thank you for everyone who has donated and helped me get to this point! I've reached my fundraising mininum - but I have acheived a whole lot more.

The opportunity to train and be a part of Team in Training's Fenway Spartan Race team has not only increased my fitness levels, but gave me the chance and the belief that I can push myself to the limit.

We have one more training left, and it's going to be bittersweet. As hard as it is getting out of bed at 7am on a Saturday to go and run in the woods with plenty of heavy things, I strangely looked forward to it every week. I knew I was going to accomplish something. That I was going to push myself to the limit of what I thought I was capable of.

We ran hill sprints, we ran carrying weighted balls full of water, ropes, sandbags, buckets of rocks and sand. We did burpees - so many burpees.

But by the end of every training, I was awake and ready to take on the weekend.

So thank you to everyone, who has pushed me that extra bit, whether is was by donating money, or helping me get my health on track, or getting my butt out the door when I really didn't think I wanted to. Thank you to Team in Training and the great group of people that I've spent almost every Saturday with for the past couple of months.

For those of you that are interested - the Spartan Race Fenway will be on November 18th and our heat starts at 2:00 PM.

If you forgot about donating - now is the time! LLS always is in need of donations, and your donations go to finding a cure for cancers. LLS funded research has directly lead to new and effective treatments for blood cancers, so every dollar is greatly appreciated!

People have been asking me "why" since I signed up for Team in Training.

"Why are you doing this?"

"Why are you waking up at 7am to go work out in the woods on a Saturday"

"Why do you need to leave the party early? Is it because you have a workout in the morning?"

Why?

Because I can.

I have my health. I have the ability move and to push myself to the next level. I have the ability to run for those who can't.

So far, my time with Team in Training (TNT) has shown me that just that little extra push, outside of my comfort zone, can make a difference. That little extra push, has paid off in endurance workouts, runs and how I carry myself day-to-day.

It also has allowed me to raise $400 to help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). A little extra push, will put me right to my $500 goal.

Why?

An estimated 957,902 people in the United States are living with, or are in remission from, leukemia, Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma or myeloma. Every four minutes, someone new is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every 10 minutes, someone dies.

The money raised by TNT participants has enabled LLS to fund millions of dollars of

research to help advance new treatments and cures for leukemia, lymphoma and

myeloma, and provide critical education and support to cancer patients and their

families.

That's why I do it. I do it because I can. I do it to change lives. I do it to make a difference.

Your donations are going to a wonderful cause, so please join me in helping others through Team in Training for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.

Welcome to my Team In Training home page!

I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers.

To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training.

Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.

I'll be participating in the Spartan Time Trails at Fenway... during Fenway Park's 100th anniversary and you know what's just as awesome? Fighting cancer.

It's great to be part of a team again - especially a team who gets together for a good cause.

Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures!
