Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
I'm training to participate in the Peak Performance Marathon, to be held in Portland, ME, as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. I am running to raise funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives, and to honor those who have battled a blood cancer.
My Team In Training has been paired with Jim Prosser, from Portland, ME. Jim has CLL, or Chronic Lymphocitic Leukemia (CLL). I am very hopeful that he will be feeling well enough to attend the race on October 5th, so that I can meet him for the first time!
In addition to our Honored Hero, I will be running in memory of and in honor of loved ones of my friends, colleagues, and family:
(1) Michael W. Conroy, a gentleman that battled AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) almost ten years ago. I work with his daughter, Cathy.
(2) Sister Sarah Geier, who is battling lymphoma, and who is currently recovering from a bone marrow transplant. She was lucky that 1 of her 9 brothers was considered a perfect match. She is a good friend of my husband's Aunt Linda.
(3) Gloria Lester, who has also been diagnosed with CLL. I work with her daughter-in-law, Kim.
(4) Mihal Ronen, who was diagnosed with CLL in 2005. I am very fortunate to have been able to work with her mom, Naomi, who recently retired.
(5) Daryl Shanne, survivor, Kathy Welchons, in remission, and Anne Faulkner who is presently battling Leukemia. Anne is from my hometown of New Hartford, NY. She is waiting for a bone marrow transplant. All are good friends of my family's friend, Nancy Hall.
I would greatly appreciate your support in this endeavor. Please know that no donation is too small, and that all donations are tax-deductible. All will be greatly appreciated by me , the entire TNT team, and those loved ones of friends and family I have mentioned above.
Please feel free to check on this website often to see how I am doing, fundraising-wise. You can also check my blog, Middle-of-the-Pack Girl, to see how my running training is progressing. I always appreciate words of encouragement!
Thank you very much for your help!
Terri
p.s. If you prefer to donate in a more traditional way, via check or cash, please contact me at terrisaint_amour at yahoo dot com, and I can give you details on where to send it, or make arrangements to collect it.
