This weekend TEAM V tackled the first 20 miles of the Boston Marathon course, along with 5,000 charity runners. This epic day marked the LAST long training run before Marathon Monday!
We still have miles to go until April 21st, but we are now 20 miles closer to the marathon and 20 miles closer to helping find a cure. We are just under the $20,000 mark as a team. Just because our mileage slows down these next 3 weeks, doesn't mean our fundraising does. We are motivated as ever.
In these next few weeks, please consider donating to help in the fight against cancer. We are tired and starting to feel the aches and pains of training. But NOTHING compares to what those who suffer with cancer deal with.
Thank you for all the love, support and encouragement you've shown us. We know we bug you with emails, facebook posts, and silly challenges, but you have all made our fundraising and training experience so memorable and humbling.
We are so blessed to have you all as part of our team!
Hugs,
TEAM V
For anyone who knows me, knows that I could talk for a while about hair. Growing up my sisters and I all had long hair. My mom would braid our hair for every dance recital, track meet and soccer game.Vanessa had the longest hair of all 3 girls and people would stop us in the street to comment on her beautiful long hair. So when Vanessa was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in the summer of 2004, losing her hair was scary. We decided as a family to all make the chop together. My mom, sister and I all went with Vanessa a few weeks into chemo treatmeant to cut our hair together and donate it. All 3 sisters were sporting short bobs for the first time since we were little. Vanessa was adament about donating her hair because she knew she's be receiving a wig made from hair someone else had donated.
As I prepare for the last 4 weeks of training leading up to the Boston Marathon, I want to give another little girl an opportunity to have a wig. Supporting little girls, like Vanessa, who had to loose their hair due to a medical condition, is something that is very close to my heart. The week of April 7th I will donate my hair to Children with Hairloss- a non-profit that gives free wigs to children who have medically relatated hair loss as a result from cancer or alopecia.
THE CHALLENGE
I will donate 1 inch for every $100 I can raise between now and April 13th (Vanessa's 21st birthday). I NEED TO DONATE AT LEAST 8 INCHES so I must hit $800 to be able to donate. I have very long hair so I will donate up to 10 inches (totalling $1000).
DONATE ANY AMOUNT TO MY PAGE: http://pages.teamintraining.org/ma/boston14/altk08
(Vanessa when she lost her hair right after the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004)
(Vanessa now- almost 21 years old. Cancer free with long beautiful curly hair!)
Please donate any amount and know that not only will your money be helping to find a cure for cancer, but you will also help support a child who is currently going through cancer treatment and in need of a wig.
Hugs,
Amanda & TEAM V ( Alex and Laura)
Birthdays are an amazing way to celebrate life!
We run to find a cure for cancer so that people affected with cancer will see many more birthdays.
This week we want to celebrate Laura's birthday! But instead of getting into the giving physical gifts we're asking that people just donate $1 to her page.

Laura was our (Alex and Amanda) first ever TNT coach and was the one who coached us through our first marathon. It was pretty much best friends at first training run as we LOVE Laura's dedication to serving others and running to help find a cure. This trio has now been through many miles and smiles together and we couldn't be happier to celebrate Laura's birthday.
Please donate to Laura's page to give the gift of supporting birthdays for those who are sick!
We love you and thank you for your continured support of TEAM V!
Hugs,
TEAM V
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
We love you all with all of our heart. The same heart that pumps blood. The same blood that can get cancer. And that same cancer we are running for a cure!
The Valentine's Day considering making a donation to ensure those suffering with blood cancers, see many more days filled with LOVE! Please consider donating even $14 since it's the 14th of February :)
BELIEVE you can and you are half way there.

Because of YOU we're $192 away from our half way point in our fundraising goal! Please help us hit this milestone and donate to the fight against cancer. Let's hit $15,000!
We're an excited bunch of yahoos and can't do it without YOU! Thanks for supporting us on this journey.
Lots of hugs and high-fives,
Alex, Amanda and Laura
