MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Every Saturday when I go to meet my teammates for our group long runs, I'm reminded why I love LLS/TNT so much.
It's not just a vehicle to raise money for blood cancer research, it's a breeding ground for friendships, self confidence, support and fun.
Sure there are tears, when someone shares their powerful mission moment about losing a loved one to blood Cancer, but we use those stories to stay motivated and focused.
During last weekend's run along 20 miles of the official BAA Marathon Course, I was blessed to have the company of two friends I've made through the group this year. 3 plus hours flew by and by mile 17 we were running a faster pace than we'd run the rest of the season.
LLS/TNT has us well trained and well prepared. And my friends, family and even some strangers have me past my fundraising goal by more than one thousand dollars. But I'm determined to see that amount grow even more.
Your money goes to fund research that we hope will someday lead to a cure. Until then, new drugs and treatments are being developed and patient services from this organization are top notch.
Thank you for your support!
April 16th and 26.2 miles ... here I come.

HOPE

Just recently I found out that my co-worker's son is going through treatments for Leukemia.
At first when I heard about this, my heart sank.
But soon after, my thoughts turned to hopefulness and the work that The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is doing, with support from their Team In Training program.
Those of us that work with LLS/TNT to raise money and awareness, want every story to have a happy ending when it comes to blood cancers. That can't happen until there's a cure ... which is why we are so passionate about bringing in money.
But until that day comes when there is a cure, funds from you help to advance the research and treatments that mean a diagnosis isn't necessarily a death sentence.
Please join me in this fight to kick cancer's *** !

Ending 2011 On A High Note

As we get ready to welcome in 2012, I'm so grateful for all of the support in my efforts with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Having moved to Massachusetts in early 2011, becoming a part of LLS/TNT has allowed me to meet a group of great people, while also helping a wonderful cause.
Three quarters of the way to the $4,000 goal, I know we can surpass that number!
And ... Remember ... donations here are tax deductible!

More than halfway there!

Thanks to the support of friends, family, co-workers AND strangers ... $4 thousand dollars is within reach.
Money raised for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society makes such a difference in the lives of blood cancer patients. New treatments are developed, lives are improved.
Someday there will be a cure. But until then, it's up to all of us to do whatever we can to get there. Even $1 makes a difference.
So please donate, help support this incredible organization and in return ... I'll keep training through the cold New England winter to make sure I complete 26.2 miles on Marathon Monday in Boston. I'll do so in honor of every brave person who's been diagnosed with a blood cancer.

Running For A Reason

Welcome to my Team In Training Home Page
Four minutes is just a little longer than a typical commercial during your favorite tv show.
But when it comes to cancer, four minutes can be life changing.
Every four minutes ... Someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer.
My mission is to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers.
To accomplish that -- I'm participating, for the third time, in a marathon event as a member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training.
So it's time to tackle 26.2 miles running the BOSTON MARATHON and make some money to make a difference while I'm at it.
Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma.
With your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
I do the runny ... you (please) give the money!
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
And check back for information on some "put the fun in fundraiser" events I'm working on.
