Welcome to Team Spiffy Clify!

We have been granted the honor of officially running the 2011 Boston Marathon on April 18th, in memory of Allie's grandfather Clif, as members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. With the support of our friends and family, we will be raising $6,500 between now and the end of January for LLS and for a chance to complete the 26.2 mile course through Boston and all of its hills! All donations go to LLS with 75% going directly to blood cancer research, patient aid and patient services.

Our motivation comes from Allie's grandfather Clif George, who was diagnosed with acute leukemia in June of last year. Those of you that knew Clif, knew that it would take a lot to slow him down. He was one who lived life to the fullest and continued to do so in the months following his diagnosis. Perhaps unbeknownst to him, Clif made an everlasting impact on everyone he came into contact with over the years. While he had more stories than anyone we knew he reminded us daily that you should always follow your heart and live each day to the fullest; whether it is by taking a 3 month long, solo canoe trip up the coast of Maine or simply sitting around the camp fire telling scary stories. Although we said goodbye to Clif on December 19th, 2010; it's people like "Spiffy Clify" that we run for and who will keep us going all those miles. They are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

4/15/11: It's finally here...Marathon Weekend!... and we just wanted to say another huge thank you to everyone that has donated. We could never have made it this far without all of your support! We have gone above and beyond our inital goal and are over $10,000 now which is truely amazing! Our team as a whole has raised $752,771.75 towards a cure(which is more than they raised in all of last year fyi).
