Taking my Training to the Pool

I've reached the halfway point in this my first season with Team In Training and the experience has been incredible. I have run further than ever before in my life, but more the people that I've met. Our team as a whole has raised nearly $100K which blows my mind. I am so thankful for everyone's generous support of both me and my teammate.
My own recooperation has reached a critical point and the nerve bringing sensation and hopefully strength back to my foot has firmly rejected running for now. So, I'm continuing to build my strnegth by aqua-jogging. Thank goodness (for me, not for them) some of my teammates need to be in the pool too. So, we get each other through the multiple hours of "running in the pool."
Still I am as committed as ever to finish my first Half Marathon less than a year after my radical ankle resection and so excited to do that in WaltDIsneyWorld with this amazing group of people!

Game Watch For a Cure

Thank you so much to Stone Brewing Company for donating in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and my Game Watch for a Cure Party this Saturday.
I'm looking forward to celebrating my favorite football game of the year with friends new and old and raising money for LLS and Team in Training. Triple Win!

Today with the support of my Team I ran further than I ever have before. Along the way, I couldn't help but feel blessed to be at this point less than 9 months after my surgery removed cancer from my ankle. I felt so honored to be able to run and to help raise funds so hopefully, fewer people will know this pain.

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
