Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate in the Treasure Island International Triathlon event on Nov. 8, 2008 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training(1.5k Swim, 40k Bike, 10k Run). All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who have or are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!

| "Good for you, Rachel! I am Julia's cousin, Bruce. My father Paul (who was the older brother of Julia's grandmother Diane) died of Hodgkin's Lymphoma when I was only 13 years old. So the cause you're supporting has personal meaning to me, to us. The triathlon you're training for ALSO has personal meaning -- but of a much happier sort -- I did the Escape From Alcatraz triathon a couple of times back in the 90's. Here's a tip for you if you haven't done SF bay before: when you first enter that 55 degree water and the shore looks like it's 10 miles away and you're wondering whose crazy idea it was to do this, don't worry! Once you get started and stroke follows stroke, the excitement & adrenaline will take over and you'll have the time of your life! " | |
