I Finished! I had a great time racing with my team in San Francisco! I finished in 2 hours, 50 minutes, and 38 seconds. I was first on my team, 12th in my age group, and 25th among females! I was most proud that I actually passed people during the run! I've finished the race and am so close to reaching my fundraising goal. Please help me achieve this by December 5th! Then I will finally be successful! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, I couldn't have done it without you! Racing to Save Lives!
Hi! I'm training to participate in in the Treasure Island International Triathlon event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. I hope to complete the race that consists of .96 miles of swimming, 26 miles of biking, and 6 miles of running. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

8/14/08 - Thank you everyone who has already donated! I went to my first team swim practice and I'm way not afraid to swim in the bay. ; )
8/16/08 - Had my first bike training. I had a great time on my singlespeed but am looking forward to buying a road bike this week. Sweet!
8/28/08 - Workout schedule. Team workout saturday, bike sunday, swim and lift weights monday and wednesday, run and yoga tuesday and thursday, friday off! Wish me luck, I don't know how this is going to happen once school starts next week.

9/7/08 - The first week of school went really well! I just hope I don't get too worn out that I don't want to come home and go swimming, or biking, or running.....
A HUGE thank you to Ms Serafin's and Ms Morrissey's 4th grade classes at Hooper Elementary. They are going to donate the proceeds from their recycling business to LLS! Go Team!
9/22/08 - The team camping trip was awesome! We practiced transitioning from the bike to running all with a gorgeous view of Lake Piru.
9/27/08 - Our first mini-tri! I got to try out my super hero wetsuit for the first time and it was the first time doing all three sports in a row. Swimming does wear you out!
10/5/08 - The cakewalk was a success! Thank you again to Michelle, Esme, Ashley and Anne for baking such wonderful cakes. Thank you to Delilah Bakery, fix, The Flan King, and Chango for donating. Thank you to the band, Brett, Scott, Harry and Josh!
10/21/08 - Salsa night was great! Thank you Veronica for making the arrangements!
11/03/08 - The race is almost here! I feel like I'm in great shape and just need to fight off a bit of a cold in order to do my best on Saturday. I haven't quite reached my fundraising goal so please continue to contribute! |
