I am training to run the Tinker Bell Half Marathon on January 29, 2011 to raise money through Team in Training for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Since 1998, Team in Training has trained more than 460,000 people and raised over a billion dollars to support patients with blood cancers and fund research to find a cure for blood-related cancers. With your help I can meet my goal of raising $2,200 for this worthy cause.

My Team’s efforts will honor those like my sister, Zoey Needham, who have fought leukemia and other blood cancers. Zoey is 4 years old and has Down syndrome. She was also diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia in 2008. Zoey underwent 8 rounds of chemotherapy and lives today as a symbol of hope and strength.

Patients with Down syndrome did not receive treatment for Leukemia until research funded by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was able to reduce the toxicity of chemotherapy drugs. Zoey is alive today thanks to these advancements made possible by donors like you.
