On January 3rd, 2011 after a very long and difficult struggle, our magnificent and beautiful Ashley succumbed to Leukemia at the age of 24. While our hearts are heavy, and the depth of our loss is beyond description, we want to honor the joy and wonderment that Ashley brought to our lives and to all those who knew her.

I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in the Tinkerbell 1/2 Marathon Jan.29th in Anaheim as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training.

Blondie and Boston, #1 and #2, A-squared, and the Ashleys—nickenames that were given to us since we were 16 because you never saw one of us without the other. There are countless memories, inside jokes, and secrets we promised we’d never tell. I will hold each of those memories so dear to my heart. I can’t help but selfishly wonder “what am I going to do without you?”. You were my voice of reason and when reason failed you were my partner in crime. You’ve shown us all what it is to have true strength and courage. Through out the past year of fighting cancer you kept your humor, your positive outlook and of course what we all love most …your stubbornness. A part of me has left with you as I know a part of you has stayed here by my side. Over the past nine years you’ve been my best friend, my sister, my hero and now my guardian angel. May you finally rest in peace. I love you always.
