I'm training to race in the San Diego International Triathlon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. Studying the impact of cancer on people's lives in my PhD program at UCLA, I have come to understand the necessity of research funding in order to help researchers and medical professionals stop the pain and suffering caused by cancer. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling cancer, and all the nurses, spouses and caregivers working equally as hard to end their suffering. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! Please join me on this ride (and run and swim!)

Update on April 20th -

I am LOVING training. It has been such an amazing way to connect with like-minded people and get in great shape. I am feeling much stronger in the pool and on the bike. Our Saturday morning bricks (when you do two sports to practice transitioning from one to the other) are my favorite because I get to see a new part of Los Angeles every week. Last weekend we were in Palos Verde, biking and running along the Pacific Coast Highway looking out onto the ocean the whole time. That's my kind of view! I'm taking a break this week from running to give my tired legs a break, but hopefully will be back at it next week. Thanks for all your support... Go Team!
