Racing to Save Lives To Recap: Last year I took on a massive challenge == training for my first triathlon through Team-In-Training == and competing at the San Diego International Triathlon. Due to incredible moral and financial support. I made it across the finish line and raised more than $5000 for blood cancers...from there I proceeded to do 3 more sprint triathlons, a full Olympic-distance triathlon and a half marathon. I raced in honor of my mother who faced her own battle with cancer in 2008, and I'm happy to say she is now cancer free! Crossing those finish lines, particularly of the first one, were some of my proudest moments. And I want to spread the love! So I'm back. And this time I'm mentoring!!! Not only am I taking on my own challenge of competing in one of the toughest Olympic-Distance Triathlons called Wildflower, I'm also taking on helping others on the team with their training and fundraising. It was that amazing of an experience that I'm back for more. And I'm bringing my fiance with me...yup, Erik's in the race for a cure too! So with all these challenges, I'm gonna need all of your support again. I realize that things are tight this year, but every bit counts...and the patients who benefit are eternally grateful. Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. All donations are 100% tax deductible and that 75 percent of the Society's expenditures directly advance our mission. I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your continued support! Love, Jessica |
