Racing to Save Lives Dear Friends, Let me first thank you all for your support over these past seven years of my fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training marathon fundraising/training program. Last year was my best year of fundraising since I started doing this. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This year we will be training for the inaugural Rock 'N' Roll Marathon in Seattle. This looks to be a fine event to participate in. As you may recall, last year we were training and fundraising for our Honored Teammates, six-year-old Tyler (in the photo here with me) and eight-year-old Natalie. Currently, Tyler is still in treatment for the relapse of his lymphoma and is standing up to it bravely and well. After the chemo treatments are over, he will have radiation treatments, but it appears he may be winning the battle. With her four-year-old brother as her donor, Natalie underwent a bone marrow transplant a few months ago, and after many challenges, is now back in school and recovering her health. It has been a very trying year for these children and their families. Their ordeal was made a lot easier by the services they received from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Your support helped make a really tough experience a lot easier. Your continuing support will help someone in the future who is afflicted with these blood cancers, or better yet, will help find a final cure for these diseases. Thanks for your past support and taking time to read my appeal. It's a pretty tough financial time right now, so I appreciate all and any support I can get. Unfortunately, cancer doesn't care whether it's boom or bust. It never rests. I would appreciate receiving your donation by May 1, but I can accept them anytime prior to my marathon on June 27. If you prefer not to donate on this webpage, you can mail a check payable to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to 2048 Galbreath Rd., Pasadena, CA 91104. Special Donation Incentive As an inducement for a generous donation of $150.00 or more, I will with great gratitude and joy print for you your choice of any of the images appearing in the Gallery portion of my website www.darkroomworkshop.com. All images will be printed archivally on 16 x 20 fibre paper with image size of approximately 10 x 10, 10 x 12, 10 x 15 depending on image chosen. All images will be either Selenium or Sepia toned for additional permanence, then mounted, matted and framed. I call this Fine Art for a Fine Cause at a Fine Price. |
