First practice down. Considering our first run was the morning after my 25th birthday I'm thrilled I was able to get there on time and complete the run. I actually felt great. We start off with a 4-1 interval training to get our pace and the whole team did awesome. Highlight: homeless man sticking his thumb out and asking me for a ride. Awesome.

4 miles...check. Today felt great. We ran down Ocean towards San Vicente and then headed back. I'm enjoying getting to know the other people on my team. Highlight: a fun little game I play called avoid the runner with ridiculous amounts of hair on his body. Success.

5 miles. We ran 2 1/2 one way then turned around and ran back. It was a beautiful morning and I finished without any problems which is great. Whether it's the big runs on the weekends or the shorter runs during the week, I'm learning to love it. Highlight: street vendor asking me to stop and have a smoke. seriously. no thank you.

6 miles. Had to do it on my own because I was at my church's women's retreat over the weekend. Highlight: running 6 miles on my own.

7 miles in the Santa Monica Mountains. Definitely my hardest run to date but I finished. If you ever get the chance you should try it...it's SO beautiful out there! Highlight: having a run without stoplights, cars, etc.

Hey guys! Well...I've decided to do it again. It's been a little over 3 years since my last half-marathon, so I decided I was ready for another. And...we all know that I wasn't about to train by myself so I'm teaming up with the incredible Team in Training once again.

I'm training to participate in the Seattle Rock n' Roll Half-Marathon. Why Seattle you might be wondering? Well, if I'm going to be running for 13.1 miles, I might as well do it in a beautiful place that I've always wanted to visit.

All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, especially our teams honored teammates. I wish each one of you could experience one of our practices. As I hear these people's stories I am even more encouraged to keep running and to reach that finish line.

More then anything, I would appreciate your prayers for all of us that are training, and especially for those that are fighting for their lives. My prayer is that one day I will be able to look back on this experience and remember training with an organization that is no longer in existence because a cure has been found.

I hope you will visit my web site often, as I will be updating it frequently with my progress throughout the season. Thanks for your support!
