Hi!!!

I have exciting news that I wanted to share: I just completed a 7 mile run in the Santa Monica mountains!!! This distance is over halfway to my goal of 13.1miles for the San Diego Rock & Roll Half Marathon! I am so excited to be getting closer to my goal! The

practices have been pretty fun. I run with a pace group and we train in intervals, each week adding a mile. We have field trips to different locations but typically train next to the beach in Santa Monica. I really like running from the Santa Monica Pier to Venice

beach- it has good people watching!!! On Saturday we had an all team event where all of the Los Angeles teams got together at Griffith Park for a run and BBQ. It is awesome to see what a big group I am part of.

It is such an honor to be running with such inspirational people. Many people have family members or some connection to blood cancers. I ran with a brother and sister today whose mom passed away 6 months ago. She was flossing her teeth and cut her gums. It wouldn't stop bleeding so she went to the hospital. That day she found out she had Leukemia and she died 3 days later. SO SAD. Last week I ran with a mom whose 6 year old son is going through treatment. Hopefully, with all of this fundraising there will be a cure soon.

I would like recognize two people that I am running in honor of. The first person is my very special Nana Rose who was diagnosed with myeloma. The second person is my long time neighbor who is a cancer survivor, Andrew.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU again for all your your encouragement and support! It means so much to me. I wanted to show you how this fundraising is helping diagnosed with blood cancers.

The Power of Your Money

$ 1000 supports one week’s salary for a medical researcher who may discover key information to developing curative treatments for blood cancers.

$ 500 provides a patient with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma with patient aid to support medical treatment and to travel to medical appointments for one year.

$ 500 allows 10 patients to logon to a webcast and hear the latest information in treatment for their disease.

$ 200 provides a Family Support Group Program for one year.

$ 150 allows 5 patients to make a First Connection with a trained peer volunteer.

$ 100 provides 3 patients access to an informational teleconference.

$ 75 is the average cost of tissue typing to become a bone marrow donor.

$ 50 is the cost of a CT scan.

$ 40 is the cost of sending a comprehensive packet of information for children with cancer.

$ 35 pays for transportation expenses for a patient to treatment at a comprehensive cancer center.

$ 25 covers a single prescription co-payment.

$ 5 is the cost of sending a newly diagnosed patient packet which includes information about their specific disease and support.

Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
