As most of you know, I "ran like a girl" at the Nike Women's Half-Marathon in 2009 on behalf of my brother Jon who was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma just a few months earlier. With the help of an amazing team of doctors, the always exceptional Goldberg-Greenspan clan, and of course, the love and support of those of you who donated, Jon came through like a champ. He has been cancer-free since August 2009!!! His battle may be over but my journey with Team In Training/The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society continues as I once again drag my "lazy ass" out of bed to help those who may not be quite as fortunate to have the superior medical care and worldwide network of fans that Jon has.
Through TNT, I've committed myself to running the San Diego Rock'N'Roll Half-Marathon (June 5th) on behalf of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, specifically Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin Lymphoma and Myeloma. Seventy-five percent of my pledged amount of $1950 goes to LLS and their mission to cure blood cancers. All donations are 100% tax deductible, and our tax ID is 13-5644916. ABOUT TNT
Team In Training was born 20 years ago when a group of athletes trained for the New York City Marathon while raising money for blood cancer research. Today TNT trains approximately 39,000 people a year to participate in marathons, half marathons, triathlons and 100-mile cycling events. Since that first team crossed the finish line in 1988, TNT participants have raised more than $950 million for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, its blood cancer research and patient services.
