11 miles!! It is amazing. I cannot thank everyone enough for their support. Once again, our team is amazing. I have never had so much support for a physical endeavor. I would also like to thank the Orange Coast Optimist Club of Garden Grove and the 10th grade Octagon (teen version of the Optimist Club) for their very generation donation and support. I will not let you down! Finally, to my husband, mother-in-law, and mom thanks for this weekend! Another step to my goal. I still cannot believe you all had a garage sale for my fundraiser while I was with my team struggling through 11 miles. You are the best support a girl could have. GO TEAM!!!

10 miles yesterday!!! I cannot believe it, but my legs keep telling me that it is the truth. I have the best team, and I just found out that our group got into the Nike Women's Marathon in October. No fundraising, but another 13.1 miles. I think I have gone a little bit crazy. I still have a way to go, physically and financially, but I am sticking with it and hopefully no more blisters! Thanks for all the support!

Happy Easter! There is so much to be thankful for on this wondrous day. Yesterday, we were at Griffith Park and completed six miles! These were not a normal six miles. These were six up and down the mountain miles. I am all kinds of sore today, but life is good. Thanks again to everyone that has supported me in this adventure.

It has been a while since I have updated my page, but only because finding the time to do anything besides train, be a mommy, wife and teacher is almost impossible. Six miles will wear a person out! I just want to say that I have the most awesome team and coaches. I could actually walk on Sunday after our six miles and I was not even that sore! I am proud to say that this weekend I will be beating my longest mileage because cold or not I will be finishing my SEVEN miles. Thanks again to everyone who has supported me in this endeavor, especially my amazing husband. GO TEAM!!

4.6 miles! I still need to speed up, but I was not too far behind the group so all is well. I was pleasantly surprised by $120 in donations this weekend. I am tired, sore, but loving every minute of this. I really love my teammates, coaches, and mentors. For all those following who still think that I am going to give up… never. GO TEAM!

Dedication: a devoting or setting aside for a particular purpose. This is what I realized I had this morning when the rain was pouring down and I was driving to practice. Again, I am so thankful to everyone who has helped me with this goal. I am appreciative to be blessed with such a lesson and excited to be part of such a wonderful group. I managed to run/walk four miles today! GO TEAM!

I just want to continue to say thank you to everyone who is supporting me in my journey. I am so proud to be doing this for LLS and I am pretty proud of the fact that I walked/ ran 3.4 miles on Saturday! I still cannot believe that I am doing this. It is an awesome journey!

It is the day after my first practice and I am sore, but in a good way. I even got up and exercised this morning:)! I cannot begin to tell everyone how appreciative I am for the love and support on this journey (financially and emotionally). I know that this journey is just beginning, but it is one I truly believe in. I will try to keep everyone up to date, and thanks again for all your support. GO TEAM!

Racing to Save Lives

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

If you can, please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
