Two More Days to Donate!
Thanks to everyone for your kind words, encouragement and donations in support of my running so far. The San Diego Rock & Roll Marathon is rapidly approaching on May 31 (in just under 20 days)! I just completed a 20-mile run - our longest run of the season until the actual race! This crazy but life-changing process is wrapping up!
My fundraising deadline is in just TWO DAYS! That means if you'd like to donate to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in support of my marathon, you have until the end of the day on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 to do so!
I am just $273.80 short of meeting my goal of raising $2,500.00 total for LLS in support of its lifeaving work toward research and patient care initatives for blood cancers and ALL cancers.
This is my final plea. This cause is an amazing one, and it's near and dear to my heart as I've lost several family members to cancer, including my dad. We all know someone who has been touched by cancer. It's time to end this epidemic and FIND A CURE.
For a donation of just $5.00 or more, you can SPONSOR A MILE of my training. I'll have run 400 miles by the time this entire process is over (from the first day of training to the last .2 miles of the actual marathon). If you become the sponsor of a certain mile, I'll add your name next to the mile on this page, my Memoirs of a Marathon blog and my Facebook group.
Best of all, it's not just your name that goes next to your sponsored mile. You can sponsor the mile in honor/memory/celebration of someone, in the name of your business, in celebration of an accomplishment - whatever works for you! In addition to your name and dedication next to your sponsored mile, you can add a link of your choice. It can be a link to your own Web site, blog, company's site, etc.
EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS! Whether you can donate $1.00 or $1,000 - it ALL counts and it means so much to me, but more importantly, to the children, mothers, fathers, etc. suffering from cancer.
To sponsor a mile, simply donate $5.00 on this page (or $10 for 2 miles, $25 for 5 miles, etc.) and then leave me a comment or send me an e-mail (wing.jacqueline@gmail.com) to let me know of the dedication and URL you'd like to appear next to your mile(s). Here's to hoping every mile will end up sponsored!
