Why am I asking for Money?
Dear Friends & Family,
I have joined Team in Training to honor two people, my friend Ripan Malhi and my Aunt Sally. I am registered to participate in the San Diego marathon on May 31st and I need your help to raise $2,500 in order to be able to race.
Last year, my friend Ripan, was diagonosed with Burkitt's Cancer and he spent over 70 days in the hospital. Not once did his positive attitude waver. I'm thrilled to tell you that he is in remission and is even training with Team in Training for a half-marathon, less than a year after getting out of the hospital.
My Aunt Sally passed away suddenly on March 3, 2009. She did not have cancer but as a nurse for more than 40 years she devoted her life to the service of others. The day she passed away I was mindlessly cleaning out my purse and I found a to-do list. One of the things on that list was "Call Aunt Sally" and you know what, I hadn't called her yet...
On May 31st I will begin the run for Ripan and I will finish it for Aunt Sally. I am asking you to join me in raising money to help support all the people working to end cancer forever. Thank you so very much for your time. Anything you can give is deeply appreciated, I know what I difficult time we are living in right now.
