Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
This may look familiar to many of you! Three years ago, on a whim, I joined Team in Training and, with your help, raised over $3000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and completed my first (and second, and third, and fourth) triathlon. I can’t say enough about how great the experience was that I had with the program. It not only helped me achieve a huge goal that I never would have been able to undertake alone, but it also helped me grow comfortable with life in California. I made some great friends, and found some beautiful and peaceful areas of Los Angeles that I didn’t know existed in this bustling city.
My brother-in-law was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia just this past month, and will undergo chemotherapy, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant. It breaks my heart that I am so far away from my family and can’t do more to help, so I’ve decided to join Team in Training again in honor of my brother-in-law, my sister, my sweet 2 year-old nephew, and my uncle, who was treated for Lymphoma last year, to continue to help families like theirs with the battles they must fight.
I will be training with Team in Training to participate in the Nike Women’s Marathon & Half-Marathon (one or the other…to be honest, I haven’t decided yet) in San Francisco on October 17, 2010. All of us in Team In Training are raising funds to help find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma, and to to help improve the quality of life of patients and their families (including mine!)
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. Every little bit bit helps. Even if you are unable to donate at this time, please pass this along to others to help spread the word.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks so much for your support!
