Racing to Save Lives

Family and Friends....

Doing well...My knees are better now :) Before you read the details below, I want to tell you how I feel right now. I feel so proud everytime my feet hit the pavement. I love talking to my Dad about my journey and him helping me along the way and motivating me. I love feeling Kristen with me everyday and feeling her keeping me going when I get tired. Like Amy and I have been saying. I feel courageous and strong knowing that if I did get cancer, I will be as strong as I can be starting out. Being healthy as a woman is empowering. God is good. I feel alive. I feel blessed to have all of the support from family and friends. I feel blessed to be honoring and remembering Kristen's fight and courage.

For those of you who do not know, I'm training to participate in this run as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. I will especially be honoring my dear cousin, Kristen Jane Faudree., who we lost to cancer last year. I know that the pain I will endure will be nothing close to what she experienced. I will fight through this for her. This journey will be long and very hard, but I know the feeling when I cross that finish line will be something I will never forget. The ultimate goal of this race is to raise money TO FIND A CURE!
