Racing to Save Lives Call me crazy, you all know I already am, but I am seriously going to do this thing! On October the 18th,2009 I will be running,or at least attempting to run,in the Nike Women 's Marathon in San Francisco. For the last six years, this marathon has exclusively raised money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society .Each participant is asked to raise 3,300 dollars.I can run this.I can raise this.I have to.It is the least I can do.Actually, it is one of the only things I can do.The week before Zoey arrived home from her last round of chemotherapy I decided to undertake this incredible challenge alongside my extrordinary daughter, Jessica. In reality this challenge, pales in comparison to what Zoey and all of the amazing warriors of the 4th floor have and continue to do :fight for their lives.I have been changed because of this journey I have traveled with my resilient and courageous 2 year old.I have evolved and morphed into a person who is compelled daily, to do something ,anything,to make a differnece in a fight against this horrific disease. So today I implore you to join me.Help me ,help them.TOGETHER WE can do this.I am guided and propelled by the children that I have been privileged to meet over the last 7 months.Ones that inspire me and breathe life into me and ones that will carry me to the end of this race. But when my race is over, theirs will continue. Some are still with us here on earth and still others will guide me from above.Their spirits, the wind behind me and a cure the finish line before me.Miss Zoey thanks you.Jaden,Klien,Justine,Kai,Alex,Gabriel,Faith,Quinn,Hunter and the rest of the 4th floor warriors thank you.Angel Sol Merie thanks you along with the gentle, ever present spirits of Pat,Julie and John.I thank you in advance for your donations,if you are able and if not, during these difficult finacial times,I ask instead for your prayers and prayers for the magnificent people who fight and wage war daily, against these cancers. I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support! |
