Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

I am completing this event in honor of Zoey a two year old little girl who is currently battling cancer and in memoery of my cousin Delia Gallegos. All the money i fundraise will go to help individuals who are battling with blood cancer here in Ventura County but specifically to Zoey treatment. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

My cousin Delia didnt know she had leukemia until she started feeling sick while she was pregnant. Once she found out, she couldnt receive appropiate treatment due to her pregnancy but they were able to safe the baby. Unfortunately, due to medical malpractice my cousin's baby was stolen from the hospital by her own doctor! My cousin passed away within two weeks of been notified of her condition and up to this day we have no word of what ever happened to her baby.

Still the hospital makes claims that it was not their fault and do not want to take responsability for anything that happened. My cousin's death affected me deeply as she was very young and not only that but it always on my mind as we are still trying to figure out where the baby is. So im doing this in her memory and as a way to still bring home to my cousin's husband and daughter that one day we will know what happened to Delia's baby.
