My Fundraising Page May 22, 2008 by Laurie Manzo: Racing to Save Lives

My name is Laurie. Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in the Nike Women's Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

My honored teammate is a four year old girl named Alyssa. She was diagnosed with Leukemia in August 2007. I will be running the marathon in San Francisco in her honor.

Alyssa my honored teammate,( pictured here) is currently back in the hospital with complications. Please keep in your thoughts and prayers.

I ran 10 miles today. Longest run yet. Alyssa has been moved to the pediatric ICU. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

I ran 12 miles today in hills of Palos Verdes. I made it thanks to the encouragement of Coach Ed.
