Racing to Save Lives

I am happy to announce that I am back and fundraising and “Racing for Christina” again. As you may know, for the last five years I have committed to raising money for the Leukemina and Lymphoma Society (over $19,000 combined so far) as well as training for triathlons each year. Well – I’m doing it again – and this time I am even more determined than ever. My official race is the Nation's Tri in Washington DC on September 12th, but I am also committed to completing my first half Ironman this year as well (baby steps, right).

I know the training will be tough, but it's all worth it, knowing that is for a good cause... my dear friend Christina. Christina was diagnosed with Leukemia almost eight years ago, and was then in remission for two years. Unfortunately she relapsed and it was too much for her fragile body to handle. Christina passed away on Wednesday, May 18th 2005, one month before I raced in her honor for the first time. Since then, I have committed to fundraising every year because it’s the only thing I can do to help. You can help too. You are more than welcome to come and watch me or even join me for a run, swim or bike, but more importantly, I need you to support me in this important cause. Think about how much your donation (no matter how large or small) could help a cancer patient. I have committed to raising at least $3,500 as well as volunteering as a mentor for our team.

Now I need your support to meet my fundraising goal. A full 75% of all donations to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society goes directly to research. Please help me support their efforts by making a donation
