Racing to Save Lives
The Greater LA Westside Triathlon Team
I am training to participate in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon on September 14, 2008, as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on the Westside Triathlon Team are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. We are completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. Your donations will help make life more comfortable for those suffering from cancer and specifically assist in research for alternative therapies outside of chemotherapy.
Some insight into what your donations can accomplish:
- $50 provides a Family Support group with a trained facilitator
- $100 provides 10 Kaiser visit co-pays
- $300 provides 6 weeks of parking for daily radiation treatments at UCLA/Children's Hospital
- $400 provides transportation for one out-of-state bone marrow donor or covers 20% co-pay on a month's supply of Gleevec
- $500 allows the Patient Financial Aid program to reimburse up to $500 per year to help cover costs of transportation, drugs and various treatments not covered by insurance
