Greetings! And welcome to my fundraising page!

You probably know the deal. If you're here I can only assume you've read the email or letter or have spent at least ten seconds with me lately. If not, let me catch you up to speed.

I am currently training for the 2012 Lavaman Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii. Pretty bonkers, right? Well brace yourself, because it gets bonkerser. I'm also working to raise $5,500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through their Team In Training program.

While Team in Training and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society have made great strides in the battle against blood cancers, the fight is far from over. Every ten minutes, someone dies from a blood cancer, and Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young adults under the age of 20. For all of you "Where is my money going!" skeptics, know that 75% of your donation goes STRAIGHT to the cause. The other 25% goes to stuff like, you know, keeping the lights on and paying the internet bill.

I will be running in memory of Caprice Wagner, a high school friend who passed away in 2008 after a short and courageous battle with lymphoma.

So...that's it. I know times are tough and believe me, I'm not expecting anyone to donate thousands of dollars (although if you wanted to, I certainly wouldn't stand in your way) but please remember that every little bit counts. Even if it's just a few bucks. And don't forget to spread the word to all of your family and friends as well! They'll love it.
