The Lavaman Triathlon is an event that holds dear to my heart.

This upcoming Lavaman race marks almost exactly one year to the day I did my first triathlon. Along with my first ever medal, I walked away from that race with a new perspective on success and a group of friends that have inspired me both in an out of this sport. In the last year, I’ve participated in 4 additional triathlon events, one of which was with Team in Training.

As Team in Training continues to impress and motivate me, and with the help of the amazing coaches, mentors and teammates I’ve quickly grown to love, I’ve decided to carry on my pursuit of the finish line in another season.

This will be my third season of fundraising, second in a row for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Through this sport I have had the privilege to meet many people who have battled and overcome cancer, and while I gain a sense of personal accomplishment with every step I take, the fact I can do it and save a life at the same time makes it all the more worth the effort.

I intend to tackle this race yet AGAIN! Your donations are ever so appreciated, and every dollar helps!
