Bill Bowerman, track and field coach and Nike co-founder, once said:

"Running, one might say, is basically an absurd pastime upon which to be exhausting ourselves. But if you can find meaning in the type of running you need to do ... chances are you'll be able to find meaning in that other absurd pastime - LIFE."

Isn’t that so true?

Anything we put ourselves through in life must have a meaning, even when the goal seems crazy and absurd like running a marathon without ever have enjoyed running or have run no more than a few steps to catch a kid that is running away from me.

By hey, ….that is life!

We make choices that are weird, absurd, crazy and unrealistic to other’s peoples eyes.

My sister said I probably hit my head hard and did not realize that, and that’s why I was taking such a crazy step in running a marathon.

Crazy is being healthy and having excuses for any challenge ahead. Lack of time is everybody’s excuse for not doing whatever they want to do. But everybody have the same 24h day and if marathon runners can find time to train for a marathon, so can I.

So, here I am, joining Team in Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I will run a marathon to help and to honor some very special people who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!.

To accomplish my exciting new goal, to run a marathon and help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) I will need your help. 75% of my initial pledged amount of $2,200 goes directly to research, anything I raise above that is 100% given to research. Donations are tax deductible.

Please join me the race for a cure and help me raise some serious money. This unfortunate disease will affect over 100,000 lives this year. Luckily, the effectiveness of recently developed treatment methods and advances in research bring us closer to finding the cause of Leukemia and related cancers. However, it takes donations from caring individuals like each one of you to make this happen. Every penny counts along with words of encouragement and increased awareness.
