Hey Everybody,

Sorry, I haven't been updating this more, but I just figured out how to do it!

For an update: running and raising have been going well! Two weeks ago, us Disney participants hit our highest mileage before the race: TWELVE MILES!!! It was crazy awesome to see how far we've come. The first meet we had we ran 3 miles and I thought I was going to die. The whole run I said to myself, "I'll finish today and then I'll quit."

But I didn't quit and instead I'm sooo excited for September 5th when I'll kill 13.1 miles around Anaheim!

The journey hasn't always been easy, and many times at 5:30 a.m. Saturday I want to hit my snooze and go nowhere near my running shoes, but I'm so happy I've made it this far.

As for fundraising, you all have been so amazing in helping me reach my goal!!! All the money I've raised so far has come from personal donations and I'm so thankful and grateful to all of you. We're almost there!!!

Alright, September 5th is just a little over a week away and I hope to see many of your lovely faces come race day!!!

Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

In 1960 my grandmother Joan, my mother's mother, passed away from Leukemia. My mother's father, Spike, suffered from Lymphoma until his death in 1985.

Two years ago my dear friend Courtney's younger sister, Emily, was diagnosed with Leukemia. On May 29th, 2010 Emily celebrated her 21st birthday. Even better, her latest tests and MRI's have produced clean and healthy results! Emily is on her way to remission!

As you can see there has been a lot of progress in the treatment of Leukemia and Lymphoma since the 1960's. That progress has been due to the hard work and dedication of doctors, scientists and everyday people searching for better treatments and cures for these diseases.

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
