I'm training to participate in the Disneyland Half Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. I also run for some specific people in my life who have either been affected by the disease and conquered it or who sadly have been taken from us because of it.

These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

This foundation has helped change the survival rate statistic from 50% to 85% with it's money raising efforts. The money goes towards research, education, & directly to paitients in need as well.

TRAINING UPDATE - 6/9/2010

Walking/running combo still, need to work up to running the full mileage. Today walked/ran combo (mostly walking - hot out there) for 3.5 miles. So far, that's the furthest we've gone. This weekend we will be a step down weekend - meaning we will only be walking/running 2 miles. We will be back up to 5 miles next week and in Atascadero which is much hotter than San Luis Obispo even at 7am. So far I've lost 3 pounds - working on a better diet this week so hopefully by next week the pounds lost will be even higher! JUST SAY NO to chocolate chip cookies!!! I love to BAKE - my weakness!

There's where we are at... Can't wait for September - I'll be singing the Matchbox Twenty song for sure - "How Far We've Come" - "let's see how far we've come, let's see how far we've come..." Thanks for all your support! VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!
