Racing to Save Lives - THANKS to everyone who has already supported me and this cause!DINSEYLAND HALF MARATHON OR BUST!!! September 5, 2010!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. ~Mark Twain
I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are currently battling blood cancers and those who have beat it! (Aunt Liz and my friend E!) These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
As many of my friends and family know I was training with TNT in 2009. I ended up really hurting myself. (apparently over training is a bad thing) I have spent the last 10 months going to docs and doing various therapies to get my feet workin' again. I am very excited to be back with TNT. It will mean so much to me to get to cross that finish line in Spetember. I have worked very hard at healing myself, now I hope to accomplish something great for myself and help give back to a cause that is sooo important to so many people.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!

yesterday was our first practice, so fun! so far this team seems to be filled with some really great people, all with different reasons for wanting to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am running in Honor of My awesome Aunt Liz who has battled Lymphoma and will beat it I am sure!
we did our pace assesment yesterday running only 3.1 miles, but my legs were like "what the heck are you doing?" haha I have not really run much since injuring myself last year. I am very excited to get back into running and supporting a super great cause!

Saturday was practice #2. as expected I am in the slowest pace group. I am so happy about it though. I tried to do too much too fast last year and that is how I hurt myself. sometimes you have to just chillax some, take it slow and eventually you will improve and move up. its hard to improve when you are injured! Our awesome coach said that for long distance trainng you should train a few minutes slower then your actual speed to prevent injury, totally makes sense. I have a wonderful group of gals in my pace group and I think its going to be a fun season for running! This Tuesday we start mid week Strength training as a team, that is going to be good stuff :)
