The Dollar Recession Donation


You've all been so supportive these past 3 years (3 marathons and 4 half marathons), with the generous donations, coming to many fundraising events, and all the kind words. I'm training yet again for another marathon (4th to be exact) on June 20, 2009 in Anchorage Alaska.


This time around, I'm trying something different. I know the economy is rough right now. Let me try this - using the power by numbers approach.


All I ask from you is $1.


That's right, just ONE dollar, then just forward this to all your friends and family. (If you feel inclined to donate more than $1, go ahead but just $1 is ok with me!)


I really want to see where my network of friends, family, colleagues can take this.


My deadline for this is June 2, which is not too far away. Remember, every dollar counts towards the cause.

  • Don't have a dollar? Are you sure?
  • you can find $1 in the depths of your car seats (or couch)
  • you can skip out on buying one song from iTunes, then you can donate
  • you can find $1 in your old jacket pocket. Go look
  • you can scoop up a least a dollar in that change jar of yours
  • you can walk a few blocks, and save that $1 of gas
  • you can save $1 by just cutting a few coupons
  • you can save yourself $ AND 320 calories by not purchasing the small Wendy's Chocolate Frosty
  • you can call Geico and see how much you can save on your auto insurance
  • you should double check your bar tab... how much did you effortlessly spend?!?

But do any of those dollars save lives? This one does!
