Cycling to Save Lives
Welcome to my century ride fundraising home page!
As some of you might know , I have been cycling on a somewhat regular basis up and down the beach in the Southbay for the past couple of years. I really enjoy these rides, but I never knew much about cycle maintenance (I probably changed my last tire about 20 years ago), proper riding style or training techniques. Then last year my good golfing buddy Louis Cetorelli joined Team in Training to prepare for and participate in a century ride. He had a fantastic experience and every week he was raving about his latest practice rides that took place all over LA. His enthusiasm for the rides and the cause was contagious, so much so that earlier this year I decided to take on this personal endurance challenge myself and joined Team in Training for a 100 mile ride around Lake Tahoe in June.
Team in Training deals with the logistics, provides the training resources and gets together a group of like minded people that provide support and motivation to help us succeed. Team in Training does all of this great work in the name of a wonderful cause - to raise awareness and funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research. In the first few weeks since I joined I have already met several lymphoma and leukemia survivors who owe their lives to drugs that were a direct result of the research funded by the LLS and Team in Training. There is nothing more inspiring than personally talking to these survivors and seeing how grateful they are for work the LLS and Team in Training are doing.
My part of giving back to Team in Training is to raise funds for the LLS and make my friends and family aware of this great cause. This is where I need your help!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission to find a cure. I plan on matching every dollar you can give, so hopefully your generous donation will help me exceed my fundraising goals!
Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress as I pedal my butt off for the cause - literally ;-). And please forward this link if you know of anyone else who might be able to help!
Thank you so much for your support!
