Cycling to Save Lives
I've found a perfect match for my love of bicycling - philanthropy and a desire to help save lives.
A few months ago I made a personal goal to train for and ultimately ride in a 100-mile bike ride. I've been on an aggressive self-training schedule since and have been making great progress. At the same time, I've been thinking more and more about helping others and how I could contribute in the most effective way. And then, out of the blue, I became aware of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training (TNT) program. Call it fate or just coincidence but the connection was too perfect to pass up.
Under the guidance of TNT coaches and mentors, I will continue to train to fulfill my personal goal by riding in the 100 mile "America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride" around Lake Tahoe on June 7th. While embarking on this opportunity to ride with the team, I am on a more important mission - the mission to raise funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. The team and I are participating in this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
