IronDoc to Save Lives


Welcome to my Team In Training home page.


Many of you know that I started running 4 years ago after transferring to South Bay Kaiser. I met Dr. David Lim, who had participated with Team in Training, and completed marathons and triathlons. Dave gave me the initial inspiration and motivation to lead a more active lifestyle and THRIVE!


Since then I have completed over 25 marathons and half marathons. Last year I decided to join Team in Training to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and train for the Vineman Ironman Distance Triathlon. I completed my first triathlon at the Desert International Distance Triathlon. I was about to compete in the Wildflower Half Ironman Distance Triathlon. Unfortunately, due to a ski accident in April 2009 I had to postpone my goal of becoming an Ironman. I tore my MCL and ACL in my right knee and I underwent right knee ACL reconstruction in July 2009. I am currently in PT to rehab my knee.


But I am determined to Swim 2.4 miles, Bike 112 miles, and Run 26.2 miles and accomplish my Ironman goal at the Vineman Triathlon on July 31, 2010.


All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I dedicated last year's fundraising to a friend and colleague, Loreto Albaran who overcame his B cell lymphoma. This year I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!


I also have a special dedication to my niece, Elizabeth Mun, who was only 16 years old when she passed away earlier this year. She was loved by all who knew her, and her memory will be with us always.
