Our family has chosen to celebrate and honor Marianne’s life. With the support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and Robert McIntyre, our family is organizing The 8th Annual Marianne Volpe 5K & Pumpkin Fun Run.  As a team we are raising funds to help find cures, ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients all in memory of Marianne Volpe.

 
Marianne passed away from Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL), an aggressive form of blood cancer. She was 56 years old when she died, leaving behind a husband, two daughters, three brothers and five sisters and too many friends to begin to count. Marianne battled her illness with everything she had for almost two years until she was taken from us October 2011 by this horrific disease.
 
There are countless stories that could be told about extraordinary people, like Marianne, whose lives are cut so terribly short by this horrible disease. Your donation will help fund treatments that save lives every day; like immunotherapy’s that uses a person’s own immune system to kill cancer. You may not know it, but every single donation helps save a life with breakthrough therapies such as these.
 
The hope is to raise money in her name for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  And our efforts are truly paying off!  Since the start of 2017, an astonishing 50 new treatments have been approved by the FDA for blood cancer patients and 44 of those have been funded by LLS at some point in their development! 
 
The "Marianne Volpe 5K" and "1/2 mile Pumpkin Fun Run" will be held in Baldwin Park on October 26, 2019. We hope you can join us by running or walking to help battle and eliminate blood cancers.
