UPDATE!!!! Due to the immense outpouring of love and support you all have given me, I have ALSO signed up to fundrase for, and run, the DISNEY GOOFY CHALLENGE! Yep- Two marathons, within 2 months of each other, oh and lets throw in a back to back event (Half Marathon Sat, FULL marathon Sun) for fun! 

I will be running the NYC MARATHON ON SUNDAY NOVEMBER 6, 2016! But, there is a reason I have chosen this world famous race... I have chosen to run a local marathon for one main reason (besides the fact that its the NYC MARATHON!!!!)...

 During the fundraising for these events, Team Bob will break $50,000 IN FUNDRAISING IN BOBS MEMORY!!!!!!!!! 

You read that right-

FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!!!!!

                                  

                                           MY REACTION TO THIS AMAZING NEWS TOO!!!

But that means we need to fundraise over $7000.00!!!! Thats where my amazing supporters come in! I am asking you all to be a part of this monumental milestone and celebration by helping me reach this goal!!!!! As the event gets closer, I will also urge everyone to come attend the run (hence picking a local event!) and some sort of wonderful after party! Stay tuned for that info!

For those of you unaware of my personal mission behind Team Bob, here it is...

My amazing (step)father, Bob McGuire, a healthy 56-year-old father, son, husband, cousin, uncle and best friend was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma in late November 2012. What started as a team of 2 for a bike challenge evolved in to an army determined to help fight this horrible disease! In just less than 36 months, TeamBob raised just over $46,000 in the fight against Cancer....

 

Unfortunately, on June 24, 2013, cancer took another life & heaven got an angel when he lost his battle.

 

Through my journey since his diagnosis, I have discovered how strong we all can be, for all those who CAN'T BE! For the next SIX MONTHS, I will put in the hours of training, will endure the physical pain of running all those miles, and will represent the small army that we already know as TeamBob- but I still need YOUR help to raise those funds so desperately needed to find a cure! We have far exceeded every monentary goal we have ever set- so I have no doubt we will blow this goal away and once again, AND BREAK $50,000 of funds raised in Bob's memory!!!!!!

 

Together, we can save lives and create a world with less cancer!!!
