Here I go again....

... but this time, I'm training with ABBY!

I will be training as a mentor with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training for the Hamptons Half Marathon and . . . THE NYC MARATHON!!! After completing the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco with my mom in 2006, I got the "itch" to do it all over again in NY. I am hoping to train injury-free this time around, and maybe even improve my time!

I have been dragging (or pushing rather) Abigail all over Hauppauge for my week-day runs. We just recently ran "cardiac hill" at Sunken Meadow park......Abby was fortunate to be home with Daddy for that run!

This season I am running in honor of Gavin Syska. Gavin was recently diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. He is doing well with his treatments and hopes to go back to school in December. Gavin just celebrated his 8th birthday not too long ago!

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. The society not only funds research for new treatments & cures for blood cancers, but they also provide education, services & support to patients and their families. My goal is to raise $2000 for the society before the start of the school year.

If you would like to send me the name of a special friend or family member who is battling cancer or has lost their struggle, I will be carrying the names of loved ones on my back for 26.2 miles all over NYC.

TRAINING UPDATE:

(August 9th) Ran 10 miles this morning, and it felt AWESOME!!! What an awesome day for a run- the humidity was extremely low and it was cool & breezy early this morning! My mom even came to run/walk with the team and got in 6 miles! Go mom! I am getting closer to my goal, every day!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
