Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
On April 26, 2009 I will participate in the St. Anthony’s Triathlon in St Petersburg, Florida as a volunteer working to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is committed to finding cures for leukemia and other blood-related cancers and to improving the lives of those affected by these diseases.
February 23, 2009 will mark the 19th anniversary of my mother’s passing. We lost her to Leukemia in the winter of 1990. My mother was a NYC school teacher for 25 years. She taught reading and writing to underprivileged children who could not read even though they were already in Middle School. We can not afford to lose people like her. Her unending commitment to her students and her nine children is what inspires me always.
I am going to swim 1.5 kilometers, bicycle 40 kilometers and run 10 kilometers because I want to use my good health to benefit others who are not as blessed – those who desperately need our help. I have pledged to raise $4,700.00 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
I run in memory of my mother but in honor of those patients who are still struggling with their battle to beat this disease. They still have a chance.
Won’t you please make a donation to support my run? Every contribution makes a difference
With warm regards and thanks,
