Welcome to my Team In Training home page. (if you donate online and it doesn't go through, please scroll down for my address, I still need your help!)

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Specifically, I am running in honor of my sister in law, Angie . She is a survivor of Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She underwent chemotherapy and radiation for 6 months each and is in remission. She had her medport removed on September 11, 2001, the day the twin towers were struck. Even with radiation, she is expecting her first child this September 5!

Honorary Team Members:

Joseph Wortman ~ Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma at age 4, he is now 17 (I taught his sister this year)

Nancy Adcock ~ Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma 7 years ago ~ in remission (a colleague of mine)

Mark Couvillion ~ Leukemia, complete remission for 17 years (we were good friends when he went through it all and he was still in a do-rag when we saw Dying Young in the theater!)

A.J. Broussard, Sr. ~ Lymphoma and in remission (father-in-law of a colleague)

I am also running for our team's honorary member, Reece, a 3-year-old that is battling ALL. www.caringbridge.org/visit/reesegodchaux

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.

I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!

IN ANSWER TO MY MOM'S VERY GOOD QUESTION:

If I don't raise the $3900, the money that I do raise will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, but I will not be able to compete in the half marathon. If I raise the $3900, my cost to go to San Francisco is absorbed by my fundraising and the other 80% or so will go to research.
