Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team in Training Page!
Would you believe that I'm going to run a marathon... 26.2 miles... In one day?! If you had asked me to even think about something like that just a year ago I would have laughed and complimented you on your imagination. Well surprise, surprise! It's actually true. On February 28th in the Rock and Roll New Orleans Marathon I am going to FINISH EVERY LAST MILE. But I can't do it without your help.
I didn't just wake up one day and decide to put my body through the hardest challenge it's ever known. I'm running on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Looking back, my grandmother, my aunt, and a dear childhood friend lost their lives to Leukemia. And as I began this challenge and reached out to friends I learned that nearly everyone I know has been touched by cancer and it is truly heart breaking. I have agreed to run this marathon and raise $2,100 on behalf of the organization because I wanted to do something about it. And by donating, so can you!
I know that with the holidays gone, donating may seem like a tedious hassle. But trust me, donating the money or even running the marathon doesn't come close to the pain and suffering of chemotherapy and the families torn apart by this disease.
All donations are 100% tax deductible. I truly appreciate your willingness to help, and again, thank you so much for your generosity. If you choose not to donate, I can always save a place for you at the starting line! HaHa
Love,
Kim
